Uncle Bobos coffee tips |
- Coffee should ideally sit for up to 48 hrs after it is roasted to allow it to degas.
- Whole roasted beans will still taste great for up to a month if they are stored in an airtight container.
- Grind beans as you consume. if you cant grind, then buy small quantities often. Store ground coffee in an airtight container, in a cool dry place
(Not the fridge)
- The correct grind for the “machine” is very crucial. Coarse grinds specifically for Plunger /French press – finer for drip/filter, down to stovetop, finer again for espresso and finest, turkish.
- Use clean filtered water if possible. Don’t over boil water. Bring it to a rolling boil 93-95 cel.as boiling water will scald the grinds.
- Keep your coffee machine clean and use a descaler often.

Raglan Roast is not your typical coffee house.
You won’t find men in white coats and high tech equipment with machines going ‘Bing’, but more of a barefoot roasters atmosphere where the locals flock for the best tasting and best value coffee around.
From very humble beginings, Raglan Roast was started out the back of a kite surfing shop by local personalities Bobo and Tony. Bobo, who has been in the coffee trade for 10 years, saw an opportunity to supply the local community with some great coffee.
Our coffee is now dispatched and enjoyed daily all over New Zealand.
Fresh roasted
Due to demand, our batch roasting is never more than a few days old, meaning you will be receiving quite possibly the freshest coffee in the country when Ordering online.
Beans are sourced from a variety of locations blending Fair Trade Organic and regular beans to create a fusion of taste and texture to tickle your palate. Raglan Roast are proud to support Trade Aids 'Next generation fund'.
Beans are purchased through several sources with a large percentage through Trade Aid. Beans originate from Panama, Mexico, Columbia, Sumatra, PNG, Ethiopia, India, and Peru.
Raglan Roast produces 3 great blends.
